SKI TRAINING
SCHEDULE

COACHES:
-
Allan Lobozzo: Head Coach/GM: Allan is a Regional Level
accredited USSA coach who has coached eight (8)
years at Shawnee Peak and six (6) years at
Gould/Sunday River. Former chairperson of the
MARA children’s committee, he grew up in
Europe and competed both internationally and in college.

Claude Lemelin: Head J1/J2 Coach. Claude
has a wealth of technical knowledge about ski
racing, having worked many years staging
ski-race events before going to work within the
Gould/Sunday River program where he coached on
the full time staff for several years, assisting
in the development of high level athletes in all
alpine disciplines.
Claude is in his second year with
SPRT. He is a USSA Alpine Official, time and
calculations official, Level 2 referee, and has
25 years of coaching experience, including 7
years at Breckenridge, 13 years at Wildcat, and
5 years at Sunday River where he coached USSA
and FIS level athletes.

Kieth Lemelin: J3/J4 coach. Keith is an accomplished ski
racer who attended
Burke
Mountain
Academy and brings his recent ski-racing
background to the Shawnee slopes

Joe Reis: J3 Coach.
Joe is a USSA State credentialed coach who was
formerly a PSIA Rocky Mountain Certified
Examiner Emeritus, director of the Key Stone
race program and coach at the Mt. Hood Summer
Ski Camps since the early 80s, and, most
recently a coach in the Gould/Sunday River
program for eight (8) years.

Jonathan Lobozzo: J4
Coach. Jonathan is a Maine state champion in his
third years coaching at Shawnee. He is a
sophomore at Bates College where he plays
varsity soccer.

Peter Lobozzo: J5
coach. Peter is a former Junior Olympian who is
in his final year at Bates College.

Rod Sutkowski: Head
J5 Coach. Rod is a long-time Shawnee Peak race
coach who brings his USSA credentials and years
of coaching and teaching to the young racers of
Shawnee Peak. He is a stickler on fundamentals
and has laid the groundwork for the future
success of countless Shawnee athletes.

CarlisleTuggey:
Carlisle is a graduate of Green Mountain Academy
and Bates College. During her Bates years she
coached at
Sunday
River
before heading out west and directing the J4
program at a major resort. When not on the
hill, Carlisle practices law in
Portland.

TRAINING:
SPRT program trains each Saturday and Sunday from
late November to late March. The club also has
“training blocks” during school vacation weeks in
December and February. During January, a
week-long “ski tutorial” is offered during which
young athletes train in the morning and study each
afternoon, supervised by coaches and a trained
tutor.
